French Club Visits Museum of Fine Arts and Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

Members of the French Club along with my daughter, Christina and me visited the MFA and Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Our connection to both museums despite the Impressionist paintings was that Edwidge Danticat, Haitian author of one of our novels, Behind the Mountains spent one month at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum while writing her novel. We got to tour both the "blue" and "yellow" rooms in which visiting artists lived while working on their masterpieces.

National FL / WL Week- Cake Wars Contests: Latin vs. French / Italian vs. Spanish

For the 3rd year in a row the French Club clenched that title for getting voted as the "best cake", not this year however.... both the Italian Club and the Latin Club won this year. Congratulations and Kudos to those two clubs. A huge shout-out to all of the participants in baking such exquisite cakes. Lots of creativity and thought were put into the fabrication of these cakes. Here are the winning cakes:

For the 10th year in a row the French IV / V students visit MSMS to  perform <<la quadrille>>, the French Canadian square dance to the current 8th grade French students. As always it was a wonderful way to connect with our future French students! We even did French aerobics with them. Check out the second video.

The following day the Spanish I students brought in some Spanish / Hispanic delicacies. Check out the <<tres leches pastel>>!!!
